New series, simple idea: every month we round up 10 Afrobeats tracks that actually came out that month, not old favorites, not a general top 10. Here's what dropped in August 2026, in order of release.
1. ITALAWA by Zlatan
Zlatan opens the month with a street-pop cut that leans hard into the Yoruba flavor his sound is built on. High energy, built for movement.
2. CLAAT! by Fireboy DML
Fireboy DML keeps his run going with another polished, radio-ready cut. Smooth and instantly recognizable as his.
3. TEA by Rema
Rema doing what Rema does best: genre-bending, playful, impossible to pin down to just one sound.
4. NDA by CKay
The opener from CKay's new album BANGER BOY, and it earns the title. Melodic, confident, built to open a set as easily as an album.
5. Dangerous by Ayra Starr
The opening track off Starrgirl, Ayra Starr's new album. Confident from the first second, exactly what you'd expect from one of the genre's biggest names right now.
6. Private Chef (feat. Mc Morena) by Ruger
Ruger's smooth, slightly sensual sound stays fully intact here, with Mc Morena adding another layer on top.
7. Happy Song by Bella Shmurda
Exactly what the title promises. Bella Shmurda's street-hop roots stay in the mix, but the whole thing is built to make you smile, not just move.
8. Call Me by Guchi
A softer, R&B-leaning entry on this list. Guchi's vocal carries the whole track, proof the genre doesn't need to be loud to hit.
9. attention! by FOLA
One of the fresher names on this list, and the title says it all: a track built to grab you in the first few seconds and not let go.
10. God Design by Spyro
The month closes out with Spyro's soulful, saxophone-tinged take on Afropop. A calmer note to end on, and a strong one.
